About a month ago, I participated in a quiz contest about sea life. As a second prize winner, I won free scuba driving lessons. I always wanted to learn scuba diving. This prize provides me the opportunity to do it.
The underwater world is a mystery to me. It has its own special beauty. It is said that the world that is hidden under the water is magnificent and extensive. While we generally see fish in water tanks or aquariums, I prefer to see them in their natural habitat. That’s possible only for the scuba divers. I know that there will be other beautiful sights underwater but I can hardly wait to see the fish variety.
I don’t like the idea of carrying and wearing the oxygen tank. I know it is a must for a scuba diver. Otherwise, how could you breathe? What makes me nervous is that the tank has to be controlled by the diver. I am constantly worrying that if I cannot control the flow of the oxygen what will happen to me? Can I come out of the water safely? Due to this fear, I think it will be impossible for me to go very deep underwater. I want to overcome this hurdle so that I won’t miss some exciting diving adventures.
My best dream is to go to Australia for scuba diving. The Great Barrier Reef off that continent is one of the most extensive and colorful reef systems in the world. I read that scuba drivers consider the outer sections of the reef as the best in the world. The water is warm. More importantly, that area is full of extraordinary creatures.
You can see snails crawling, and turtles and sting rays gliding by. I’d like to see sharks, but from a distance. My first step though is to learn how to scuba dive! Wish me luck!
